Weekend Diary ✧ Movies & Shopping
Hello everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend, and if you’re in the US, a nice long weekend especially!
Although I don’t tend to do anything particularly extravagant for Memorial Day (I don’t like crowds, so trips to busy places are a “no,” and I dislike fireworks 💦)
But this weekend, the sequel to Mad Max: Fury Road was released! 🚗
My best friend showed me the movie shortly after it was released, but to be honest, I don’t think I liked it that much at the time! 🫣
I’m not the biggest fan of action movies in general, but especially back then, I didn’t find them fun to watch.
But I was interested in Furiosa, so on Sunday I rewatched Fury Road and I really loved it!!💕
The world-building is really entertaining, and I love how the directors give you just hints of elements of the world without really explaining anything.
On Monday, I went to see Furiosa and surprisingly, even though it was opening weekend, I was able to get my ideal seat! (perfectly centered in the theater 🥰)
I won’t spoil anything, but I really enjoyed the film! I had a bit of hesitation when I saw the trailers, but thankfully the movie exceeded my expectations!
Also, in both films, the fight choreography…❣️
It’s so fun! The focus on the vehicles as the setting makes for such interesting motion. I really want to watch the film again because it was just so entertaining to look at, even if you look past the story (which I also enjoyed!)
Since I was at the mall anyway, I decided to look around and do some shopping!
I visited Hot Topic, Newbury Comics, and Francesca’s! 🛍️
Sometimes I take pictures of books that I want to remember to look into later! If I am not convinced by the synopsis, sometimes I want to look at reviews or additional summaries, so I’ll snap a pic to remember for later! 📖
p.s. since my family and I are taking a road trip up to Canada in the coming weeks, we have been doing some work on my car! On Saturday, my mom helped me restore my headlights! Because I drive a car that is a hand-me-down and a bit old (2006… 💦) it tends to have some minor things that need to be fixed on a pretty regular basis. It had failed inspection twice in the past due to yellowed, oxidized headlights, and we used temporary solutions before, but now we took the time to do a permanent solution! It looks soo much nicer now! It was really fun, and nice to spend some quality time working outside with my mama, too! 🐻
Until next time, I hope you all keep trying your very best! 🕊️
